LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy

Queer Therapy in NYC

Maybe you can relate…

  • You've been to therapists who were accepting but still made you educate them or minimize parts of your identity to make the work more palatable.

  • You want a therapist who can hold the wild mix of pride, grief, joy, confusion, hardship, excitement, and anxiety that comes with being queer and/or trans.

  • You’re navigating trauma, OCD, anxiety, family conflict, and relationship stress that gets tangled up with your queerness and transness in a way that makes it hard to discern what the problem is.

  • You’ve worked with therapists who assumed your queerness and/or transness was your primary stressor when you needed to be seen as whole, complex, and multifaceted.

Our approach

We offer trauma-informed, queer-affirming experiential therapy that invites your whole identity into the process. We’re experienced with addressing the specific challenges of LGBTQ+ folks through a mix of evidence-based therapies (like IFS, ACT, EMDR, and somatics) and creative resources that resonate with the complexities of living in a queer and/or trans body. Most of our clients have tried following the normative scripts of society but are left feeling inauthentic, numb, and desiring a life that’s bigger, brighter, and more expansive. We start by helping you understand yourself and soften internalized shame, then identify ways to connect with affirming communities and start taking bold action towards the life you want.

Services we offer

You may be wondering…

  • Absolutely. Sometimes the thing you need to work on is directly tied to your identity and sometimes it's not. What matters is that you don't have to partition yourself to be in the room — you can show up whole and trust that nothing about who you are is going to become the problem.

  • That's welcome here. You don't need to have language for everything or show up with a label that fits. A lot of identity work isn't a straight line — it's recursive, it's messy, and it sometimes circles back to things you thought you'd already sorted out. Your therapist isn't going to rush you toward a conclusion or need you to be certain about anything before the work can start.

  • Yes. We work with clients across a range of relationship structures — monogamous, polyamorous, kinky, open, solo poly, relationship anarchist, and everything in between. We're not going to treat your structure as something to unpack unless you want to. If you're navigating jealousy, communication, boundary-setting, or a transition in your relationship, we can meet you there without needing you to justify the arrangement first.

  • Both. We have offices in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and West Village, Manhattan - and see clients virtually throughout New York state.

  • We’re an out of network provider, so we don’t directly bill insurance. We can give you receipts for out of network reimbursement, we take HSA/FSA, and have a limited number of sliding scale spots available.

  • Our fees range from $200-250 for 45 minute sessions and $250-330 for 60-minute sessions. We’re out of network providers, so we don’t directly take insurance, but we can give you receipts to submit for potential reimbursement if you have out of network benefits. More info on that here.
